To be able to play back 2.1 stereo with Dirac Live Processor, you will need to select a 2.1 speaker configuration right from the beginning of the calibration.
There are two ways to achieve a 2.1 config in Dirac Live Processor and there is a difference between license requirements:
2 Inputs / 3 Outputs
2.0 stereo on the input side and 2.1 on the output side, with the .1 sub channel generated by Dirac
Stereo license + Bass Control needed
Choose Custom from the speaker config list, then go to Menu > Custom Channel Config... > Select Stereo > Press “Add subwoofer”
3 Inputs / 3 Outputs
2.0 + an LFE channel on the input side and 2.1 on the output side
Multichannel license needed
Choose 2.1 Surround from the speaker config list
If you are using a VST instance, please make sure to select the correct speaker configs there as well.
Please note that these 2 configurations will each have their own filter banks, however you can use the same project file to export the filters - you just need to have the right speaker config selected before opening Dirac Live.
Furthermore: you can add as many subs to your Custom config as you want with the Stereo + Bass Control licenses without a need for a Multichannel license. So you can easily have a 2.2 (2 In/4 Out) speaker config as well.
