Where should I connect the microphone?
If the Dirac Live-enabled device comes bundled with a calibration microphone, we recommend connecting it to the device and not the computer since Dirac Live then will fetch the calibration file from the device automatically.
When using Dirac Live on a tablet/smartphone you need to use the microphone bundled with the device, since we currently do not support connecting a microphone to a mobile device.
If using a third-party omnidirectional microphone, or if your Hi-Fi device is placed far away from your listening area, connect the microphone to your computer and ensure it has full access to be used with Dirac Live ("Privacy & Security" settings).
Make sure to download the relevant calibration file provided by your microphone manufacturer, and load it into Dirac Live (on the "Select Recording Device" tab).
Applying proper calibration to your microphone is crucial to creating a reliable measurement.
