Why are some speakers in ART excluded from providing support?

Some devices have more speaker terminals than power amplifiers, meaning that some connected speaker pairs cannot be driven simultaneously with other speaker pairs. The amplifiers are dynamically assigned to output terminals, by means of internal switches during runtime, based on what surround decoder is in use.

Excluded speakers cannot be used for providing support in ART because their missing contribution when disabled would deteriorate the ART channels they are supposed to support.

Excluded speakers can still receive support from other speakers, because their source content will be present only when they are available, and that content can be fed also to the other, constantly present, supporting speakers.

For more information regarding excluded speakers and for the latest updates about your specific device, please contact the manufacturer.
